Save the Date: USAIC World Cup Team Trials

We are excited to announce that the USAIC World Cup Team Trials will be held October 2–4 at the Longmont Climbing Collective (LCC) in Longmont, CO.

The Board President and Executive Directors met with the LCC team this afternoon to solidify plans. The key drivers for selecting this venue were proximity to the largest number of athletes, facilities and administrative support, and the opportunity to build upon an already strong partnership between our organizations.

• Schedule Note: For planning purposes, athletes pursuing selection for the US Team should be prepared to climb starting Friday morning (October 2) through Sunday (October 4).
• Next Steps: Further details regarding event structure, pricing, and team selection criteria are actively being developed by USAIC’s Co-Executive Directors. These will be posted on the USAIC website and shared in follow-up announcements in the next few weeks.

Welcoming Our Co-Executive Directors

On that note, please join us in officially welcoming Co-Executive Directors Marcus Garcia and Tyler Kempney. The Board and Co-Directors formalized an agreement today, July 31st, enabling Marcus and Tyler to lead the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Many of you have asked about volunteer opportunities, and with this partnership in place, we are thrilled to begin more formally coordinating these efforts with you. Your responses from the May volunteer engagement survey have been shared with Marcus and Tyler, but please feel free to reach out to me individually if you would like to refresh your interest or get involved right away.

We deeply appreciate the enthusiasm and support we’ve seen from the community over the last several weeks, and we look forward to creating a successful 2026/27 season together with all of you!
